FATA Scholarship body meets

Meeting of Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences) FATA Scholarship Management Committee has been held on August 30, 2012, in Institute of Management Sciences Peshawar under FATA Secretariat, Government of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, a 20 years financial aid / scholarship project "IMSciences FATA Scholarship Programme", says a press release. 

Dr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan, Director IMSciences Peshawar chaired this meeting along with other prominent members of the province, including Dr. Qibla Ayaz, Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Noor Jehan, Vice Chancellor Islamia College University, Mr. Muhammad Javed, Assistant Director (Scholarship), Directorate of Education FATA Secretariat, Mr. Amir Abdur Rehman, Deputy Secretary (Universities), Higher Education Department Govt of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, Mr. Safdar Hayat Dawar, President Tribal Union of Journalists FATA, and IMSciences scholarship committee members.

The chairman briefed the panel regarding this valuable 20 years financial aid project which worth is Rs128 Million and will deliver 400 fully funded scholarships to FATA students, 208 at undergraduate level and 192 at graduate level. He added that this programme has already been advertised in Daily the News and Daily Mashriq dated 16th August 2012 and 24th August 2012 respectively. The last date to apply for this scholarship programme is also extended to 7th September 2012. He further focused on the increasing number of FATA students in IMSciences due to such beneficent programmes. Currently 471 FATA students are enrolled in IMSciences and the Institute has awarded Rs. 40 Million to FATA students under different financial aid / scholarship programmes in last financial year. 

The committee members were briefed about an arrangement of zero semester (preparatory classes) for selected scholarship holders, which will be run parallel to their 1st semester. The purpose of this arrangement is to bridge their deficiency in English, Math and Communication skills.
